According to the agency, the issue was structured as follows:
- A five-year bond, with a coupon rate of 3.875%, for an amount of 2,000 million euros.
- A 10-year bond, with a coupon rate of 4.875%, for an amount of 1,750 million euros.
- A 14-year bond, with a coupon rate of 5.375%, for an amount of 1,000 million euros.
“With this operation, an important part of the external financing program contemplated for 2026 is brought forward, allowing more flexible management for the rest of the year,” highlighted the SHCP in a statement.
He highlighted that to date, the federal government has developed four sustainable reference curves in euros, dollars, pesos and yen, through 56 labeled bonds for a cumulative amount of 32.45 billion dollars, which positions Mexico as one of the main issuers of SDG bonds in Latin America.
“The issuance was carried out under the recent update of the Sovereign Reference Framework for Sustainable Financing, which expands the categories of Eligible Sustainable Expenditures and reinforces the eligibility and traceability criteria. This framework is aligned with the National Development Plan 2025-2030 and consolidates the best practices in terms of transparency, impact measurement and accountability,” reported the SHCP in charge of Édgar Amador Zamora.
The demand for this placement reached 13.5 billion euros, equivalent to 2.84 times the amount issued, and orders were received from more than 180 international investors, the Treasury detailed.
