Delcy Rodríguez pointed out this Monday that she is at the head of the Venezuelan Executive, after the president of the United States, Donald Trump, published on Sunday a manipulated image of his profile on Wikipedia, in which he claims the position of “interim president of Venezuela” in January 2026.
«From here we ratify and reaffirm the sovereignty and independence of Venezuela. I have seen caricatures on Wikipedia of who is in charge in Venezuela. Well, here there is a government that rules in Venezuela, here there is a president in charge and there is a president hostage in the United States,” manifested Rodríguez during an event in La Guaira, without directly mentioning Trump.

After the capture of Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores, the United States said that they are preparing a transition process for Venezuela. To date, they have concluded negotiations for the sale of “large volumes” of Venezuelan oil. Last week, they also announced talks to restore diplomatic relations between both countries.
