A 50-year-old man was sent to nine months of preventive detention for his alleged participation in the assault and rape of an 18-year-old girl at the Sapallanga viewpoint, which occurred on the night of November 30, 2025. The measure was dictated by the First Preparatory Investigation Court specialized in violence against women, following a request from the Public Ministry.
According to the investigation, the accused Carlos William Rafael Ccacro and an accomplice intercepted the victim and his companion when they were descending from the viewpoint, stripped them of their belongings and then took them to a remote area, where they tied them both up and sexually subjected the young woman under threats with a firearm and knife.
The accused was identified thanks to the trace left by transfers made through Yape, in addition to the physical recognition and the analysis of his social networks. The Prosecutor’s Office maintains that the detainee would be involved in at least three other attacks with the same modus operandi in sectors such as Ocopilla, Cajas Chico and Sapallanga.
While the search for the second person involved continues, the Prosecutor’s Office urged other possible victims to report to strengthen the investigation and prevent these events from going unpunished.
