The conferences were held in different public squares in the country, as a way to support the position of President Claudia Sheinbaum, who maintains that although there is collaboration with the US government, sovereignty is not negotiated.
Trump accused that “the cartels control Mexico” and warned of his willingness to act in Mexican territory.
“We have intercepted 97% of the drugs that enter by sea and now we are going to begin to act on land against the cartels,” the president of the United States told Fox News last Thursday.
The Information Conferences in Defense of Sovereignty were held this January 10 and 11 in different states of the country.

This Sunday, President Claudia Sheinbaum affirmed that Mexico’s sovereignty is not up for negotiation.
“With the United States we have to collaborate, we have to coordinate, we are neighbors but there is something that is not negotiated and that is the sovereignty, the independence of the homeland,” he said when leading the delivery of Welfare programs in Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán.
The president of Mexico affirmed that the security strategy is based on two “arms”: combating impunity and attention to the causes.
“It is supporting young people by getting closer to young people, but also the economic development of the state that allows employment that allows well-being. It will work, I am convinced of it,” said the president.
