Given the questions from the left to the emergency decree (DU) 010-2025, which proposes the reorganization of Petroperufrom the state company sent a statement highlighting the need for the company to make some changes.
“Petroperú is going through a critical stage, which not only affects the company, but also the entire hydrocarbon sector. To overcome it, structural changes and responsible decisions that cannot be postponed are required,” they noted.
Likewise, they stated that this reorganization “does not imply” the privatization of the oil company, as argued by a sector of the left. In that sense, they indicated that the State will maintain ownership of the strategic assets.
“This process, added to the internal reorganization, aims to recover the operation and efficiency of the company, optimize its management and safeguard its strategic assets,” they indicated and pointed out that the measure seeks to make the state company a sustainable company in the long term.
Likewise, they assured that the changes will strengthen the company’s capacity and meet the obligations with bondholders, banks, suppliers, contractors and workers, thus guaranteeing the stability of the production chain and the supply of hydrocarbons.
“Any action that is implemented will be carried out in strict compliance with the procedures and current labor regulations, as established by the Emergency Decree, guaranteeing responsible, transparent and law-abiding action. The actions adopted will be carried out with full respect for labor rights,” they added.
