Mescyt will open a new call for international scholarships for postgraduate studies

Santo Domingo. – The Government, through the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mescyt), continues to commit to promoting the training of Dominican professionals with the granting of scholarships to pursue master’s and doctoral degrees.

An example of this government initiative is the international scholarshipswhich allow young Dominicans to pursue higher education in countries like SpainMexico, Italy, Puerto Rico and United Kingdom.

The program, which is renewed annually as part of a state policy, will open a new call this January 30According to the head of Mescyt, Franklin García Ferminthrough a publication on the social network Instagram.

According to official data, in a period of five years Nearly 10 thousand young people have been awarded international scholarshipsprioritizing students from “historically lagging provinces”like Barahona, San Juan, FlintsElías Piña, Dajabón, San José de Ocoa and Hermanas Mirabal.

The process to access the program is carried out through the National Scholarship Systemwhere they are evaluated academic and socioeconomic requirements to “reduce clientelism” and ensure the equal opportunities.

To apply, interested parties must be dominicans and complete all the required spaces in the online form, available through the portal Your Future Scholarship.

Additionally, they must have a minimum academic index of 80, on the scale of 0-100, and of 3on a scale from 1 to 4, have academic documents legalized by the Mescytcopy of identity card, curriculum vitae, letter of purpose and other requirements.

Among the higher education institutions with which Mescyt has formalized agreements to guarantee these programs are the University of Nebrija (Spain)Catholic University of Manizales (Colombia) and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain).

Likewise, the Anáhuac University (Mexico), the Marangoni Institute (Italy), Carlos Albizu University (Puerto Rico), University of Barcelona (Spain) and University of the Basque Country (Spain).
