Paper! Guido Bellido announces the death of Congresswoman Lucinda Vásquez by mistake

Tremendous role! The congressman Guido Bellido announced, through his X account, the alleged death of his colleague Lucinda Vasquez which became known months ago as ‘the nail clipper’.

Through a post, the former Perulibrist and today a member of the Podemos Peru bench gave his public condolences to the legislator’s family, and accompanied the message with an obituary in which he notes a health mass for the legislator.

In her post, which was published for more than an hour, Bellido wrote: “Colleague Lucinda Vásquez, how many times did they insult you and belittle you without knowing your health condition and you fought to the end like the great person that you are. You did not go home to rest but to work daily. (…) You never complained even when they accused you of nail clippers, you did not say that you could not move or that you had terminal cancer, (…) but today we mourn your departure…”.

The parliamentarian, however, would not have noticed that there were two texts and not one, each written with variations and preceded by this phrase: “Here is the text corrected in spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax, maintaining the original, emotional and respectful tone.”

Elsewhere it is noted: “Slightly more fluid version if you prefer a slightly more natural look.”

This revealed that Bellido had resorted to artificial intelligence to write his condolence message.

From the Congress of the Republic, meanwhile, they denied the information and pointed out Peru21 that the only certain thing was the invitation to a mass for Vásquez’s health that was held yesterday afternoon.

Only more than an hour later, Bellido deleted his post and published another in its place in which he apologized for the case. “To err is human,” he argued.

Who is Lucinda Vásquez?

Lucinda Vásquez, it is recalled, became known months ago after a Sunday journalistic program reported that she used her staff to do domestic work at her home.

A photograph was even released in which the legislator is seen sitting in an armchair in her congressional office and with one of her workers cutting her toenails.

Due to these events, the Parliamentary Ethics Commission approved, last November, to denounce the congresswoman ex officio and initiate an investigation process against her for alleged ethical misconduct, which is currently underway.
