Months before dying in a tragic plane crash in Boyacá, the singer spoke in a podcast about repeated dreams in which he saw his end from a plane.
Colombia News.
This January 10, 2026, Colombian popular music is in mourning. The renowned singer Yeison Jimeneza native of Manzanares, Caldas, died in a small plane accident between the municipalities of Paipa and Duitama, in Boyacá, confirmed the national press. The news has shocked followers, colleagues and the entire country.
The small plane, which was headed with six occupants towards Medellín, crashed in circumstances that are still the subject of investigation by aeronautical authorities and emergency agencies.
But what makes this episode even more shocking is a confession that Jiménez made months ago in the podcast Men do cry with Juan Pablo Raba: the artist recounted with anguish that, on repeated occasions, he dreamed of a plane crash—a vision that, sadly, today has become a reality.
In that conversation, Jiménez described how, in three timeshe had had vivid dreams in which he was on a plane that ended in disaster. He said that even in one of those dreams the pilot came back and told him that “they almost killed each other,” and that in another he saw how the plane crashed while he contemplated Medellín from the air, “as if I were leaving.”
The artist claimed to have lived those dreams as a warning and that marked him deeply, especially one that occurred on May 24 of last yearwhen he woke up at three in the morning full of terror after dreaming that he had to insist to the captain to check the aircraft.
Today, those gloomy visions seem to have been a tragic omen. The accident that claimed the life of Yeison Jiménez not only breaks with the everyday life of the popular music scene, but also reopens questions about coincidences, intuitions and the shocking story of an artist who felt, before anyone else, that something terrible was about to happen.
Jiménez, 34 years old, had not only built a successful career in popular music for more than a decade, but was also admired for his story of improvement and connection with his roots, from his beginnings to filling important stages in Colombia.
