He National Election Jury (JNE) confirmed that the candidate registration for the regional and municipal elections 2026 will win June 16, 2026period in which political organizations must present their formulas and complete lists to compete for governorships, mayors and other subnational positions.
This calendar electoral is part of the process that leads to the elections of the October 4, 2026the date on which millions of Peruvians will elect authorities for the period 2027-2030 throughout the country.

Before the deadline closes, parties and movements will have to decide how they will select their candidates, either through internal mechanisms or election of delegates, on dates set by the JNE in May.
The candidate registration It is not the only requirement of the process: there are rules on gender parity, youth quotas and participation of native communities that the lists must meet to be admitted.
The parties also face other key dates of the calendarsuch as the communication of the primary modality to the ONPE and the official publication of those admitted before August, steps that allow the process to be organized in an orderly manner until the elections.
