The reason for the demonstration is to demand the immediate delivery of medicines.
Given the complicated situation faced by users of the New EPS throughout the country, including those in Ibagué, citizens and health professionals have expressed their rejection and concern about the multiple difficulties and lack of guarantees in care.
For this reason, they have called a sit-in that will take place today in front of the facilities of the health provider entity in the city, in the capital of Tolima, with the aim of demanding answers for the members, especially with regard to the delivery of medications for those who suffer from chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and cancer, among others.

The appointment that those affected have given
Héctor González, director of the New EPS Users Association, assured that the event that will be held at the entity’s headquarters located on Calle 30 and Carrera 5, in the M30 building, seeks to deliver pending medications as soon as possible, taking into account the serious effects that this causes on patients.
“We will demand that the New EPS immediately deliver the medications to users and that they not continue to deceive members with promises that they will not keep,” he stated.
Liliana Ospina, former Secretary of Health of Ibagué and medical specialist, described the situation as outrageous and expressed her solidarity with the users, ensuring that she will accompany the demonstration to raise her voice of protest.
“No more lies, no more deceptions, no more temporary solutions for all these affiliates who have received promises of a technological contingency plan, while older adults, who suffer the most from chronic diseases, have to fight with a platform that does not work,” he stressed.

Actions to take in the face of the crisis
It is worth mentioning that the Tolima Health Secretariat recently announced immediate actions in response to complaints that have arisen in recent days about alleged failures in customer service, in order to establish intervention and monitoring measures on the EPS.
During the protest, health professionals and lawyers will accompany the protesters to provide free advisory services, so that those who require petition rights and guardianships can file them and obtain solutions to their health problems.
