Delcy Rodríguez holds talks with Lula, Petro and Sánchez

The president in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, announced that she held talks with the president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva; the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro; and the head of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, in the context of the armed aggression perpetrated against Venezuela.

Rodríguez explained that during the exchanges he reported in detail about the attacks that caused the death of more than a hundred civilians and soldiers.in addition to denouncing violations of International Law, including the personal immunity of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores.

The president pointed out that in the conversations they agreed on the need to advance a broad bilateral cooperation agenda, based on respect for International Law, the sovereignty of States and dialogue between peoples.

Support from Brazil and Colombia

Rodríguez especially thanked President Lula da Silva and the people of Brazil for the accompaniment and support provided to Venezuela after the aggression suffered.

With President Gustavo Petro, he confirmed that Colombia and Venezuela are brother countries, committed to moving forward together to face and resolve common problems, based on mutual respect and regional cooperation.

Spain’s position and diplomatic channels

In his conversation with the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, Rodríguez thanked the stance of condemnation of the aggression against Venezuela and raised the interest in working together on a broad and beneficial bilateral agenda for both peoples.

Finally, he reaffirmed that Venezuela will continue to face aggression through diplomatic channels, faithful to the principles of Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy, as the only way to defend sovereignty and preserve peace.
