The Dominican Electric Transmission Company (ETED) reported that this Saturday he will maintenance work preventive in the substation Boca Chica and in the 69 kV transmission line Timbeque II–La 40, which will cause the temporary suspension of electrical service in several towns and companies in the area.
Maintenance actions scheduled by ETED
As explained by the entity in a press release, the tasks include the repowering and the conductor retensioningwith the aim of strengthening the operational security and reliability of the electrical system.
The works in the 138 kV Boca Chica substation are scheduled to develop between 9:00 in the morning and 2:00 in the afternoon.
During that period there will be without electricity the communities of Boca ChicaLa Caleta and Catalina, in the east of the Santo Domingo province.
Impact on communities and companies due to the electrical suspension
Several companies and institutions will also be affected, including the Hamaca Hotelthe Caucedo Multimodal Free Zonethe Cybernetic Park, the Las Américas Free Trade Zone, Cartones del Caribe, Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA), the Las Americas International AirportLAM Laboratories, the Brujuelas Aqueduct and the SIBA Generating Station.
Likewise, the brigades of the ETED will intervene 69 kV transmission line Timbeque II–La 40, among the 9:00 in the morning and the 12:00 noonwhich will impact the electrical service of the companies INCA, La Isabela, Multiform, Textiles Titán and RAVI Caribe.
In the statement, the ETED asked apologies for the inconveniences that these interruptions may cause and reiterated its commitment to maintaining and improving the country’s electrical infrastructure. These maintenance tasks are periodic and seek to guarantee the safety of the lines for transporting the energy that is supplied to the population and companies throughout the country.
