More than two million households in extreme and moderate poverty will benefit from Social Prosperity.

Sisbén households belonging to the most vulnerable groups in the country will continue to receive the VAT Refund in 2026, one of the social programs of the national government aimed at mitigating the impact of the consumption tax on lower-income families. The initiative will benefit more than two million homes throughout the national territory.

The program does not require registration processes, since the selection of beneficiaries is carried out based on the information registered in Sisbén, the National Household Registry and the official lists of indigenous communities. With this data, Social Prosperity automatically identifies prioritized households.
According to the criteria established by Social Prosperity, the beneficiaries belong to the groups classified as extreme poverty and moderate poverty. In the first case, homes located in groups A01, A02, A03, A04 and A05 of Sisbén are included.
Regarding moderate poverty, the program covers households classified in groups B01, B02, B03 and B04, who also meet the socioeconomic requirements to receive the bimonthly monetary transfer.
By 2026, it is estimated that the value of the VAT Refund will range between 106,000 and 110,000 pesos per cycle, taking into account the adjustment of the Tax Value Unit (UVT) set by the DIAN at 52,374 pesos, according to the variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
Payments will be made bimonthly and, as has happened in the last two years, it is expected that the program will continue integrated with the Citizen Income cycles. The first disbursement of the year could be made between the months of February and March, according to the schedule defined by Social Prosperity.
