The formation of an extratropical cyclone in southern Brazil is expected to cause a cold front for the state of São Paulo next Saturday (10) and Sunday (11), favoring the occurrence of strong and isolated rain showers in several regions of the state.
According to Civil Defense, the areas with the greatest potential for storms are in the regions bordering Paraná and along the east coast of São Paulo. There is a possibility of intense rain accompanied by electrical discharges, gusts of wind and possible isolated hail.
Temperatures remain high in much of the state, with a slight moderation throughout the weekend. In the metropolitan region of the capital, thermometers vary between 21°C and 33°C, while in Baixada Santista the values are between 25°C and 35°C.
Indoor weather
In the interior and in the north and west regions, maximum temperatures remain high, reaching 35°C in areas such as Vale do Paraíba, north coast, Araçatuba, São José do Rio Preto and Ribeirão Preto. In Vale do Ribeira and the Itapeva region, temperatures can reach 37°C. In higher altitude areas, such as Serra da Mantiqueira, the minimum temperatures are around 15°C and the maximum temperatures do not exceed 26°C.
According to the Climate Emergency Management Center (CGESP), the weekend in the metropolitan region of São Paulo should maintain a typical summer condition, with a predominance of sun throughout the day, heat and temperatures above 30°C.
Rising temperature
On Saturday (10), the predominance of sunshine since dawn favors the rapid rise in temperatures throughout the day, with a minimum temperature of around 20°C in the early morning and 32°C in the afternoon, with minimum air humidity levels around 35%. The day should end with increased cloudiness, but no rain is expected.
On Sunday (11), the tendency is for there to be sun, heat and a rapid rise in temperature throughout the day. The minimum in the morning should be around 21°C and the maximum could once again exceed 32°C. Air humidity must be at least 32% during the hottest hours. The end of Sunday should be with variable cloud cover and no rain forecast.
