The company Energy 2000 reported the docking of the ship LNGShips Empressas part of the process of receiving the first shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) destined for the electricity generation Manzanillo Power Land (MPL).
The arrival of the boat occurs after satisfactory completion of the operational reviews and of security required within the standard processes of the LNG supplier for this type of operations, as reported by the company through a press release.
The operation was carried out under a scheme of ship to ship transferby which the fuel was transferred to the floating storage and regasification unit Energos Freezedocked since September 1, 2025 in the maritime terminal.

The shipment, with an approximate volume of 50,000 cubic meters of LNG, will be destined for operational tests at the Manzanillo Power Land plant, as part of its process prior to its entry into service.
In addition to his contribution to the electrical system national, the project constitutes an axis of development for the northern border area of the country, generating local employment, economic revitalization and growth opportunities for the communities of Pepillo Salcedo and the province of Montecristiadds the statement.
Contribution to the generation
Once in operation, MPL will provide 440 megawattsequivalent to about 12% of the capacity of electricity generation national, using natural gas as the main fuel, a more efficient and cleaner source, contributing to the stability of the national electrical system and the reduction of the use of more polluting fuels.
