With the right to the throne and crown of an empress, striker Bia Zaneratto is back at Palmeiras. The reinforcement of Palestrinas for the 2026 season was announced by the club this Wednesday (7). Top scorer and champion of the Brasileirão and Copa do Brasil in 2022, the player returns to the team wearing the number 10 shirt. This will be Zaneratto’s fourth spell at Alviverde, after two seasons at Kansas City Current (United States).
“It’s great to be able to return home. All the affection I received when I was here and even when I left makes my heart beat stronger when making the decision to return. Having left the doors open also meant that my heart was always filled with this affection from the fans”, said the player, on the Verdão website. .
The 32-year-old athlete is the second highest scorer in the history of Palestrinas, with 55 goals scored in 83 games with the alviverde shirt. Zaneratto is second only to 24-year-old Amanda Gutierres, with 74 goals in 103 matches.
Defending the Kansas City Current alongside compatriots Debinha and Lorena, Zaneratto was champion last year of the North American Women’s Soccer League – the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) –, one of the strongest in the world. Even so, Zaneratto chose to return to Brazilian football.
“So, I think it’s about taking advantage of this moment that Palmeiras women’s football is experiencing. I left here with the dream that Palmeiras would achieve great things off the field as well. We see the results happening. I hope to come to add even more and win more titles with this shirt”, added the striker, who has already defended the Brazilian team in four World Cups ((2011, 2015, 2019 and 2023) and in two Olympics (2016 and 2020).
A Paulista from Araraquara, Zaneratto was revealed by Ferroviária and later played for Santos, Bangu and Vitória das Tabocas. Before Kansas Current, he played for Hyundai Steel Red Angels, (South Korea) and Wuhan Xinjiyuan (China).
In addition to the striker, Palmeiras had already invested in hiring five other reinforcements: Duda Santos, Ana Guimarães, Layssa Santos, Duda Basílio and Glaucia. The Palestrinas are the current champions of the Copa do Brasil and were semi-finalists in the Brasileirão last year.
