The West African nation stressed that the US bombing of Venezuela is a violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
Foreign Minister Yván Gil reported that he had a telephone conversation with his counterpart from Benin, Olushègun Adjadi Bakari, who ratified the West African nation’s support for the people of Venezuela in the face of the imperial attack on January 3.
“We have maintained a constructive dialogue with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Benin, Olushègun Adjadi Bakari, who has expressed his firm support and solidarity with Venezuela in response to the military aggression facing our people,” Gil wrote on his Telegram channel.
Likewise, he highlighted that the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Benin joined the call to organizations from all latitudes to enforce international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
“In addition, Bakari has joined the international call that demands respect for international law and the fundamental principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, which advocate for the sovereignty of nations and condemn the threat or use of force,” concluded the post.
It should be noted that, since the United States bombings against Venezuela last Saturday, January 3, various countries have raised their voices in rejection of the attack, have expressed their support for Venezuela and have demanded the immediate release of the presidential couple.
