The ordeal continues to obtain a vacancy in the IE Mariscal Castilla of El Tambo. Yesterday, dozens of parents woke up in front of the modern school to register their children for the first year of high school; The truth is that neither getting up early nor getting wet in the rain will guarantee you a place, since the few remaining vacancies will be determined by lottery.
Abel Jorge Meza, deputy director of the campus, clarifies that there is an order of priority; That is, some sectors have priority to obtain the vacancies available for 2026.
The 482 vacancies for first year of secondary school will be distributed in this order: first, students with special needs; second, those who have siblings at school; third, children of former students of the campus; fourth, children of teachers and, finally, students from the El Tambo district. Only the remaining vacancies will be submitted to a lottery.
“If there are vacancies, all those who come from other places will be accepted, but it is written very clearly that it will be by lottery. On Friday we had 301 registered and today (yesterday) another 300; registrations are until this Friday”explained the manager.
The teacher asked parents to avoid spending the night outside the school, ensuring that attention is fluid and during office hours, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. At the same time, he explained that the high demand for vacancies is due to the modernity and good reputation of the institution.
“It must be because of the infrastructure and prestige; we lead in El Tambo and last year we were champions in debate, reading comprehension and sports. There is educational quality”he finished.
If for the first year of secondary school the vacancies are few, for the other grades they are fewer: for the second year of secondary school there are 4 regular vacancies; for third, 2; for fourth, 1 and for fifth, 2. Even so, parents will continue fighting to obtain a place in the modern school.
