Among 192 countries, the Peru pavilion installed at Expo 2020 Dubaiwhich has been registering more than 1,400,000 visitors since its inauguration on October 1, 2021, was chosen as the best and won the World Expo Awards in the People’s Choice Awards category, reported the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (Promperu).
The specialized magazine Exhibitor, which awarded the prize to our country, held a virtual call for the public from around the world to vote for the best experience received by the visitor within a pavilion, which ended on March 15.
In this regard, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Roberto Sánchez, pointed out that this is a very important recognition of the work carried out by the sector over these six months, especially due to the appreciation of the international public that has shown its predilection for our pavilion.

“This valuable award fills us with pride and encourages us to continue showing the best of our country at Expo 2020 Dubai, so that the world can continue to discover Peru’s cultural treasures, its rich multicultural identity and its fantastic biodiversity.”, said the head of the Mincetur.
Important commercial contact for SMEs
Our pavilion was presented with the “Timeless Peru” concept, offering a sensory experience and a synthesis of our historical, multicultural and mega-diverse legacy.
“The Peruvian pavilion strategically located in the “Mobility” area of the Expo, in a space with great flow that has allowed it to widely exceed the goal set in relation to the number of visitors. At the end of the event it is expected to reach a million and a half visits”, said the executive president of Promperú, Amora Carbajal.
He added that the Peruvian pavilion was an important point of commercial contact for our tourist and exporting SMEs from all regions of Peru, so that they can promote unique tourist destinations and a great exportable offer, and thus boost their internationalization process.

Also, renowned chefs, artisans and musicians gathered at the event leaving the name of Peru high. These gastronomic and multicultural demonstrations delighted Expo attendees, especially on the most important dates for our country.
Among the most outstanding moments are the inauguration and ribbon-cutting of the Peru pavilion, as well as the National Day, held on March 7, the date on which the United Arab Emirates celebrated Peru in style, and our country showed the world cultural diversity, infinite wealth and the legacy of our ancestors surprising those attending this gala.
