The official said that The Bolivarian National Armed Forces “conclusively rejects the cowardly kidnapping of citizen Nicolás Maduro Morosconstitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, our commander in chief, and his wife, the first lady, doctor. Cilia Flores de Maduro”.
In the statement, he assured that this event occurred after they murdered “in cold blood a large part of their security team, soldiers and innocent citizens.”
Padrino López indicated that the FANB supports Delcy Rodríguez, who was appointed president in charge of Venezuela by order of the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice.
“The Bolivarian government will guarantee the governability of the country, and our institution will continue to use all its available capabilities for military defense, the maintenance of internal order and the preservation of peace,” he added.
Then, he urged that activities continue as normal this Monday. “I call on the people of Venezuela to resume their economic, labor, and educational activities in the coming days. The country must move on its constitutional rails,” he stated.
