Hundreds of people gathered on the afternoon of this Sunday, January 4, in the Plaza Libertadores in Barcelona, in the state of Anzoátegui, against the imperialist aggression of the United States and the arrest of Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores.
On the day, called by the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv) and allied forces, demonstrations of love and solidarity were held, in addition to demanding the release of Maduro and Flores.
Governor Luis José Marcano, together with the mayors, authorities and municipal authorities, asked for maximum unity and assured that from this day “this cause is added to the causes that we have forged our spirit.”
He highlighted that they remain in the streets in defense of freedom, independence and national sovereignty.
“From this square, an icon of this struggle, we tell the world that the people are in the streets, firm, loyal and in battle for the homeland,” stated the territorial political liaison of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv) in Anzoátegui.
