A fire in eastern Cali affected several homes in an informal settlement; no people were injured.
An emergency in eastern Cali appeared in the evening hours of this January 1st. According to authorities, about 10 homes were affected by this fact.
In that sense, to contain the situation, from the Volunteer Fire Department of the city were deployed two fire extinguishing machines. It should be noted that the point at which the situation occurred corresponds to a incomplete urban settlement with homes made from wood.

“Taking care of a structural fire in the sector of Peacean incomplete settlement where more than 20 homes were affected and it is the confirmed census that we have,” stated the Corporal Néstor GiraldoEmergency Coordinator of the Cali Volunteer Fire Department.
In his opinion, the rapid response of relief agencies allowed the eventuality to be attended to without risk.

“The Firefighters managed to attend to the incident and prevent it from spreading to other homes in the area. Thanks to the intervention and support of the community, the fire was controlled and prevented from spreading to countless homes in lightweight construction that would have massified the emergency. It was controlled and we have no injuries. until now,” he noted.
While citizens, through social networks has expressed himself, narrating the minutes of terror who lived in the neighborhood after the growing conflagration.
“I thank you for being here in this very difficult situation, it began at 04:00 pm from back to front when we realized it was affecting everyone. They are homes in wood and mat and that makes it very complicated and difficult to control the situation,” said one of the residents.
