Running very well current Rio Branco Home in Montevideo
In previous editions of THE DIARY PROFESSIONAL We reported on the visit that the Mayor, along with part of the Council and Municipal officials, made to the possible building where in 2026 a 2nd Residential Center will operate for young people who are going to continue university or tertiary studies.
In the last few hours, from the Communications area of the Local Government, details of the operation of the current Home were given, which is not only in perfect maintenance conditions, but also meets the objectives for which it was created.
The official in charge has extensive experience since she completed a decade at the head of this residence where hundreds of young people have made their dream of improving themselves in academic life come true.
The Municipality considers it important to have this second location, but they understand that it is essential to highlight and promote what is already functioning in perfect conditions at this time.
“Actually now in February it will be 10 years since I have been here” stressed Rosario Mieres while accompanying Mayor Federico López, Councilor Gerardo Olivera and Social Management Manager Fabián Pedrozo.
“At first it was difficult, like anything new for me. It took a little while for the little ones to adapt to me and for me to adapt to the little ones themselves, but there is a lot of history of what the Home has been in these 10 years” said the person in charge of the space.
“There has been a very good relationship with all of them” stood out.
“The task I must perform is to ensure a good coexistence between the students who are housed here. That has been the case for generations because in this decade quite a few generations have already passed here” he stated.
“There are several generations of young people who have even consolidated a strong friendship among themselves” Mieres assured.
“This has made it possible to carry out the task much easier” said.
“At this moment, accompanied by the Mayor who is in full negotiations to ensure that Río Branco has another Student Home in Montevideo, which makes me very happy because this will mean that a greater number of young people will have the possibility of coming to study in the capital” expressed Rosario Mieres, Manager of the Río Branco Student Home in Montevideo.
It should be remembered that there are still some places for the second Home, which are received from Monday to Friday in the morning at the Social Management Office, next to the House of Culture.
Until the end of the year – the beginning of the week – almost 40 children had shown interest in using this new residential complex.
