A helicopter with eight people had to make an emergency landing at sea in Cabo Frio this Friday (2). According to the Brazilian Navy, the search and rescue operation was activated, and an aircraft was deployed to the location to carry out the rescue.
The Navy confirmed that rescued eight people (six passengers and two crew) involved in the accident with an OMNI Táxi Aéreo helicopter that operated in support of oil platforms. The aircraft landed in the sea about 40 miles (about 74 kilometers) south of Cabo Frio (RJ).
“A Search and Rescue Operation (SAR) was immediately activated, using a Navy helicopter. The aircraft rescued all the crew, who were in two life rafts, taking them, after the rescue, for medical evaluation at the São Pedro da Aldeia Naval Air Base Polyclinic, where it was confirmed that everyone was doing well”, highlights the Navy in a note.
