The government concluded the agreement authorizing the definitive importation of used vehicles and the regularization of cars of that type for 16 entities in the country, after considering that the purpose that generated this measure had already been addressed and in search of avoiding bad practices.
After various modifications to the agreement issued since 2021, it was established that it would be in force until September 30, 2026, but in an afternoon edition of the Official Gazette of the Federation On December 31, the Executive Branch repealed it. He clarified that its validity ended on the last day of 2025.
In the document he stated that, according to the figures from the Public Vehicle Registry, 2 million 987 thousand 839 vehicles were regularized until the cutoff of last November 25.
With this, “legal certainty and protection was granted to the citizens’ assets and contributed to guaranteeing public safety, by having the means to identify the owners of said vehicles and prevent them from engaging in the commission of illicit acts.”
