The senator Francisco Chahuan (RN) announced the filing of a complaint for the events recorded on Tuesday in the frustrated visit of the Minister of the Interior, Izkia Siches, to the community of Temucuicui, in the region of La Araucanía. Unknown persons blocked the road and shots were reported in the air, which forced the ministerial delegation to retreat.
The opposition legislator maintained that he will present the complaint tomorrow. He described the events as “a serious attack” against the ministerial delegation, and stated that the government’s attitude has been “anemic” by “not presenting complaints or lawsuits.”

The objective is “to pursue the responsibilities of those who, finally, tried not only to stop the passage but to actually cause damage to the ministers of State; and as they have indicated, to give a public signal,” said the president of RN.
Let us remember that Minister Siches ruled out taking legal action, alluding to the fact that the Public Ministry has already initiated an investigation ex officio.
“It is very important that the Minister of the Interior give powerful public signals and, together with showing solidarity with the situation of the attack to which she was subjected, tell her that just as we have done on three previous occasions, where our complaints have been admitted (… ) due to serious events that occurred in La Araucanía, we are going to insist, presenting a new criminal complaint in this ex officio investigation that the Regional Prosecutor’s Office has initiated,” he added.
Finally, he summoned the national prosecutor, Jorge Abbott, pointing out that “the High Complexity Crimes Unit has only two prosecutors in charge” and that Abbott himself “takes directly the investigation of these events.”
