
An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 on the Richter scale shook areas of northwest Venezuela this Thursday morningwith no victims or damages reported so far. This was reported by the Venezuelan Foundation for Seismological Research (Funvisis).

The epicenter was located 24 kilometers northeast of the town of Villa del Rosario and 59 kilometers northeast of Machiques.
At the moment, Funvisis has not reported aftershocks and the authorities have not reported any damage or victims.
The last earthquake that was strongly felt in much of Venezuela occurred on September 24, 2025 and also had its epicenter in the west of the country, with a magnitude of 5.4, according to Funvisis. However, the Colombian Geological Service said it had been 6.1.
Due to the earthquake on September 24, authorities reported some damage to structures in the state of Zulia.
