JEE declares Mario Vizcarra's Senate candidacy inadmissible

He could be out of the race. The Special Electoral Jury (JEE) of Lima Centro 2 declared the candidacy of Mario Vizcarra to the Senate due to a conviction for embezzlement handed down in 2005.

Peru21 reported that Vizcarra has two objections admitted for the same reason in process, which would indicate that both would be declared admissible within the electoral body.

Ten candidatures declared inadmissible

In total, the Special Electoral Jury (JEE) of Lima Centro 2 declared inadmissible the request for registration of the list of ten candidates for the Senate for the national constituency—including that of Mario Vizcarra— presented by the Perú Primero party, after detecting observations in the sworn statements and in the mandatory documentation of all of them.

If it is not corrected within two calendar days, the request will be declared inadmissible.

The first case corresponds to Mario Enrique Vizcarra Cornejo (position No. 1). The observation of his candidacy is due to the fact that he stated in his DJHV that he has a final sentence for the crime of embezzlement, issued on October 4, 2005, with the sentence served. The JEE included this information among the observations made to the list.

The candidacy of Gustavo Amir Flores Haboud (position No. 23) was also observed, who declared that he had a final sentence for the crime of driving while intoxicated; However, the file number recorded is incomplete, which prevents the JEE from verifying their judicial records.

In the case of Alicia Jessica Vargas Senisse (position No. 14), the observation is that her affidavit of consent and veracity from the DJHV does not have a fingerprint or signature, a mandatory requirement according to the electoral regulations.

A similar situation is presented by Jackeline Rosemary Flores Flores (position No. 26), who presented sworn statements without a signature or fingerprint, which constitutes a formal omission.

Likewise, Jesús Augusto Camarena Landeo (position No. 29) was observed because his sworn statement lacks a signature and fingerprint.

Regarding Aristóteles Álvarez López (position No. 15), the JEE warned that in his sworn statement he did not state the position for which he is applying, which prevents his candidacy from being correctly validated.

Meanwhile, Delia Montero Jiménez (position No. 16) presents observations due to inconsistencies in the date of registration of her sworn statement, since the document was signed, but the date of completion of the registration in the computer system was not recorded.

The JEE also observed the candidacy of Mirian Maribel Morales Córdova (position No. 2), who declared work experience in the Congress of the Republic, but did not attach the unpaid license required for active public officials.

In the same case is Juan Venancio Escriba Palomino (position No. 17), who indicated that he works in the Provincial Municipality of Huamanga; However, he did not attach the corresponding unpaid license.

Finally, Adela Yrene Córdova Alcarazo (position No. 20) declared current employment ties with EsSalud in two different positions, but did not present unpaid leave for any of them.

The JEE granted two days to correct the observations; If not, the list will be declared inadmissible.
