The National Institute of Civil Defense urged to take preventive measures in response to meteorological warning No. 002 from Senamhi, which warns of the presence of rains of moderate to strong intensity in areas of the Amazon jungle, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Cusco, Huánuco, Junín, Loreto, Madre de Dios, Pasco, Puno, San Martín and Ucayali.
According to the forecast, accumulations of around 55 mm per day are expected in the north, around 65 mm in the center and values close to 90 mm in the south.
These precipitations could be accompanied by electrical discharges and gusts of wind with speeds close to 45 km/h.
Given this scenario, Indeci recommended that local and regional authorities verify that evacuation routes are free and signposted, as well as ensure the operation of health centers, police stations and fire companies to respond to possible emergencies.
Likewise, the population was urged to reinforce the roofs of their homes, organize early warning systems in coordination with the authorities and prepare their Family Emergency Plan.
