Drinks with sugars and sweeteners

For sugary drinks the fee will go from 1.64 pesos per liter to 3.08 pesos per liter. While for drinks with sweeteners or sugar substitutes, the fee will go from zero pesos to 1.50 pesos per liter.
More expensive tobacco
They will also apply increases to the IEPS for tobacco and products containing nicotine. For the first the fee ad valorem It will go from 160% in 2025 to 200% in 2026, in addition the quota per piece will go from 0.64 pesos to 0.85 pesos.
For cigars, cigars and other hand-made tobacco, the tax increases from 30.4% to 32%. While the sale and import of other products containing nicotine will generate a tax from zero to 100%.
Games with bets and raffles
Meanwhile, the IEPS for games with bets and raffles goes from 30% to 50%. And games with digital bets and raffles carried out by residents abroad without establishment in Mexico, will have a rate of zero to 50% in 2026.
Quotas for gasoline and diesel
Additionally, like every year, the three IEPS fees charged to Magna and Premium gasoline, and diesel are updated according to inflation.
The fee of federal IEPS for Magna gasoline it goes from 6.45 pesos per liter to 6.70 pesos per liter. For the Premium it goes up from 5.45 pesos per liter to 5.65 pesos. For diesel it went from 7.09 pesos per liter to 7.36 pesos per liter.

Charges for violent video games suspended
In the process of discussion and voting on the IEPS Law in Congress, it was approved to tax video games with extreme violent or adult content with an IEPS of 8%. Through this new provision, the Treasury expected to collect 183 million pesos in 2026.
