State schools will begin enrollment in 2026, how many vacancies are offered by the main schools in Huancayo

The Ministry of Education (Minedu) announced the official schedule of the 2026 school enrollment process, which will be carried out free of charge and without any conditions. In Huancayo, several high-demand state schools have already begun to disseminate their dates and number of vacancies, in anticipation of hundreds of parents.

IE Santa María Reyna, at the primary level, will offer 259 vacancies, while at the secondary level it will have 111 vacancies in total, including students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The director of the institution, Jhonny Rojas, specified that the process is strictly governed by the provisions of the Minedu.

“We are being strict and compliant. The reception of files begins this Friday, January 2 and extends until the 9th”he pointed out. Another school with high demand is the IE Mariscal Castilla, which offers 669 vacancies at the secondary level (181 for SEN students), while the IEE Santa Isabel has 1,244 vacancies (78 for SEN), becoming one of the institutions with the greatest capacity in the city.

In all the cases consulted, the school management agreed that the process will be carried out only with physical documents and in person. Finally, it was reported that the start of the 2026 school year is scheduled for Monday, March 16 at the national level, so the directors recommended that parents respect the schedules.
