HATO NEW, AZUA.-For the third time, the Government makes compensation payments to farmers from the Hato Nuevo Cortés community, in the province of Azua, affected by the area of influence of the volume of water from the Monte Grande Dam project.
Through the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources, RD$43 million were delivered to 50 farmers.
The director of Indhri, Olmedo Caba, pointed out that these farmers and agricultural producers are compensated for the damage caused to their plantations by the rising waters of the Monte Grande hydroelectric plant.
With this delivery, there is a total of RD$65 million, the amount given to the farmers of Hato Nuevo Cortés de Azua by the administration of President Luis Abinader in response and support to those agricultural farmers who are within the impact zone of the dam, said the executive director of Indhri.
The first payment was made by Indhri on October 11, for an amount of RD$8 million 292 thousand.
