Padrino López: Venezuela's independence cost blood, sweat and tears

With a fighting spirit, under the banner of the national tricolor and in unwavering defense of sovereignty, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) ratified its historic commitment to the Homeland; This was expressed by the Minister for Defense, General in Chief, Vladimir Padrino López, during his visit to the Special Security Unit of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) Cotiza, where he shared Christmas moments with soldiers on national service.

In his speech, the senior military leader recalled that the independence of Venezuela was achieved with blood, sweat and tears by the Venezuelan people.

“When the president of the United States says that those lands are theirs, that everything that lies here in the subsoil, the natural wealth, water, biodiversity, oil and gas belongs to them, that produced great indignation among the people of Venezuela,” describing such statements as a lack of respect towards the nation, the State channel reported.

He urged the Fanb to remain firm, without surrendering or allowing itself to be manipulated by claims of foreign domination, and called to continue the united struggle alongside the Venezuelan people.

In recognition of the institution’s work, Padrino López congratulated the Fanb for its forceful actions against drug trafficking: “The performance of our Bolivarian Military Aviation and the Comprehensive Aerospace Defense Command was impressive, neutralizing 8 aircraft associated with drug trafficking in the state of Amazonas. Every aircraft serving drug trafficking will receive a response from the Fanb,” he stated.

Likewise, he highlighted: “We have had a great participation in the stability and maintenance of peace, especially the Bolivarian National Guard in the fight against drug trafficking, there are more than 65 tons of drugs seized in different procedures, demonstrating that Venezuela plays a decisive role in drug trafficking.”

The meeting culminated with an emotional Christmas sharing at the GNB Cotiza Special Security Unit, where General in Chief Vladimir Padrino López, together with the Great Military Family of the Fanb, celebrated a fraternal lunch that strengthened the ties of unity, peace, equality and love as a family.

Finally, the senior military leader recalled the message of humility and fraternity that must guide the institution and the people: “Jesus left us a great message of love, unity and humility, we cannot allow ourselves to be defeated by greed, greed and ego that only create disunity, we must love each other, for our families and our country.”
