Those who burn dolls, old clothes, tires or other waste during the New Year celebrations in Huancayo will be sanctioned with fines ranging from 10% to 20% of the Tax Tax Unit (UIT), warned the Provincial Municipality of Huancayo, in compliance with Municipal Ordinance No. 746.

The Public Services Management, through the Environmental Management Area, specified that these practices are prohibited due to the serious damage they cause to the environment and the direct risks to public health, due to the emission of toxic gases such as carbon monoxide and particulate matter.
Municipal authorities warned that the burning of this waste mainly affects children, older adults and people with respiratory diseases, and can cause asthma attacks, eye and throat irritation, in addition to aggravating the levels of air pollution in the city.
