With the arrival of the end of the year celebrations, many drivers in Bogotá wonder if the peak and license plate will still be in force, taking into account the reduction in vehicle flow due to the departure of travelers to other regions of the country.
To improve mobility and encourage the use of alternative means of transportation, the District Mobility Secretariat defined the restriction scheme that will govern between the Tuesday December 30, 2025 and the Friday, January 2, 2026with special adjustments for the New Year.
How will the bill and license plate work for private vehicles?
The measure will maintain its usual scheme, based on the last digit of the plateand will apply from Monday to Friday between 6:00 am and 9:00 pm
Tuesday, December 30, 2025: Plates finished in 6, 7, 8, 9 and 0.
Wednesday, December 31, 2025: Plates finished in 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Thursday, January 1, 2026 (holiday): The peak and plate measurement does not apply.
Friday, January 2, 2026: The measure does not apply, according to the provisions of the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá.
The Secretariat recalled that the restriction Does not apply on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays.

How will the taxi nozzle and license plate operate?
For taxis and individual public transport vehicles, the restriction will apply between 5:30 am and 9:00 pmas follows:
Wednesday, December 31, 2025: Plates ending in 5 and 6.
Thursday, January 1, 2026: Not applicable the measure.
Friday, January 2, 2026: Plates ending in 9 and 0.
Exceptions and Solidarity Peak and Plate
Among the exceptions to the peak and plate are the electric and hybrid vehiclesautomotive emergencytransportation of people with disability (upon registration), shared car with three or more occupants, vehicles diplomats, funeral and public transport.
Also available is the option of Solidary Peak and Platewhose processing and payment can only be carried out through the official platform of the District Mobility Secretariatusing the button PSE enabled.
Fines and sanctions for non-compliance
Drivers who do not respect the measure are exposed to a fine of $711,750in addition to the vehicle immobilization.
The violation may be imposed by traffic agents or detected by photodetection cameras.
