For 36 hours, the governor of Oaxaca, Salomón Jara Cruz, did not respond to the emergency due to the derailment of the Interoceanic Train, which occurred on Sunday in the municipality of Asunción Ixtaltepec, leaving 13 dead and 98 injured.
It was not until last night that the Morenoist president met with President Claudia Sheinbaum, who after noon arrived at the isthmus of Tehuantepec to offer support to relatives of the victims.
After the accident, Jara Cruz only wrote on social networks that he issued instructions to his cabinet to address the emergency in coordination with the federal government. Citizens have criticized the governor for not coming immediately.
After the accident, the Secretary of Government, Jesús Romero, arrived at the scene, who accompanied the President on a tour to talk with those affected by the accident.
The government of Oaxaca failed to specify where Salomón Jara was, which is why its lack of support in the face of the tragedy has been pointed out.
David Jiménez, leader of the Oaxacan Left Movement, criticized that the president did not appear for more than 36 hours.
