The list includes ten national holidays and nine optional points covering traditional dates in the Brazilian civic and religious calendar, as well as periods in which administrative operations are organized, such as carnival and Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

The ordinance also establishes that holidays commemorating the state’s main date, established by state law, and the beginning and end days of the centenary year of the municipality’s founding, declared by municipal law, will be observed by direct, autonomous and foundational federal public administration departments in the respective localities.
