FIFA changes Ukrainian player transfer rule

FIFA announced this Wednesday (16) that it has changed the regulations for the international transfer of players of Ukrainian nationality, allowing these athletes to be able to work with teams from other countries even if the hiring windows are closed in Europe.FIFA changes Ukrainian player transfer rule

“Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, FIFA has been closely monitoring the situation to remain in the best possible position to help Ukrainian clubs and players in any way, including adopting temporary changes to their regulations. […]. Ukrainian players can be registered with another club, even if this registration period ends with the association of the club they intend to register for.” communiqué.

FIFA also said it would “continue to closely monitor the situation in Ukraine”, and that it condemns “the continued use of force by Russia in Ukraine and calls for a rapid cessation of hostilities and a return to peace”.
