Within the framework of the Bolivarian Shield Strategic Operation “Independencia 200”, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) carried out a forceful blow against the transnational drug trafficking mafias. The GJ. Domingo Hernández Lárez, Strategic Operational Commander, reported on his social networks about the destruction of eight aircraft and the dismantling of four logistics camps belonging to groups associated with drug trafficking in the state of Amazonas.
The procedure was carried out in the Alto Orinoco municipality, a border area with the Federative Republic of Brazil. The operation responds to the direct instructions of the Constitutional President and Commander in Chief of the Fanb, Nicolás Maduro, in a frontal offensive against the trafficking of narcotic and psychotropic substances in the four cardinal points of the Nation.
The head of Ceofanb indicated that the aircraft were operating on illegal clandestine runways, flagrantly violating the Control Law for the Comprehensive Defense of Airspace, as well as the Security and Defense Law of the Nation, by not having authorized flight plans, visible identification and transponder systems to transit through the national airspace.
