Operation Zaraza 2025 has left a balance of 36 subjects killed in the Guárico state during legal interventions, according to the balance given by Division General Anderson Rendón, commander of the Comprehensive Defense Operational Zone (ZODI N°35).
Among the results with the greatest impact, Rendón highlighted the neutralization of two key figures of the Tren del Llano criminal organization: Octavio José Rojas Martínez, alias “El Fiebre”, who was killed on the property of the Aguaro-Guariquito National Park (Juan José Rondón municipality); and Yudelvis Mayelín Ravelo, nicknamed “La India”, neutralized in a rural area of Valle de la Pascua (Leonardo Infante municipality).
The criminal structure, the Tren del Llano, led by Oscar de Jesús Noguera Hernández (alias “El Diente”), is being progressively dismantled by the actions of Operation Zaraza. According to Conas investigations, the group is mainly dedicated to extortion and collection of “vaccines” to the detriment of medium and small producers in the states of Guárico and Anzoátegui.
Dismantlements, arrests and seizures
The ZODI commander highlighted in his assessment that Operation Zaraza, one of the plans kept active by the Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb), “has been the spearhead of our constitutional tasks”, also achieving the dismantling of 17 logistics camps in various parts of the plains region.
In addition to this, he indicated that with the deployment of 1,500 troops, this operation achieved the arrest of 250 people and the seizure of a significant stock of weapons (167 units) and explosives. The official report also emphasizes the seizure of 1,100 liters of fuel and satellite and radio communication tools.
Other results
Within the framework of internal order operations, the death of 28 citizens was reported in the midst of operations with mixed commissions of the FANB and security forces, as well as a balance of 2,014 people detained for different crimes and the investigation and preparation of 2,500 files. Commander Rendón detailed the seizure of 277 firearms, 1,431 cartridges and the seizure of 1,285 vehicles.
Social Days
At the same time, the ZODI Guárico highlighted its social work with the delivery of 10,000 bags of food and the care of communities through 12 medical-care sessions held during the year (2025). In terms of infrastructure, the Mi Cancha Bonita plan recovered 20 sports spaces, and through the Bricomiles, 45 garrison homes were rehabilitated for the well-being of the staff.
