The Public Ministry (MP) reported on the sentencing sentence of 27 years and six months in prison against Adriannis Rondón.
Rondón was found guilty of the crime of human trafficking with the aggravating circumstances provided for in the Organic Law for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (Lopnna).
The information was disseminated by the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, through his social networks, where he specified that the conviction was achieved by the Aragua State Prosecutor’s Office, after demonstrating the criminal responsibility of the accused in the events investigated.
According to the actions of the Public Ministry, Rondón was dedicated to recruiting teenagers for the purposes of sexual exploitation, subsequently subjecting them to prostitution networks. The Prosecutor’s Office presented compelling evidence that showed the seriousness of the crime and the damage caused to the victims.
The competent court imposed one of the most severe penalties contemplated in Venezuelan legislation for this type of crime.
The attorney general highlighted that this sentence is part of the Public Ministry’s policy of frontally combating crimes that violate the integrity, dignity and human rights of children and adolescents, reiterating that there will be no impunity for those who engage in these practices.
The MP, through the General Directorate for the Protection of Family and Women, has promoted awareness campaigns so that citizens know how to report and recognize cases of human trafficking.
This crime is classified in the Organic Law against Organized Crime and Financing of Terrorism and in the Organic Law on the Right of Women to a Life Free of Violence, which allows severe punishment for those who recruit, transfer or exploit victims, especially children and adolescents.
