An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 occurred on the night of this Friday, December 27, off the coast of the Áncash region, according to the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP). The earthquake occurred at 9:51 pm and had as reference a location 67 kilometers west of the city of Chimbotein the province of Santa.

According to the report of the National Seismological Centerthe event was recorded at a depth of 52 kilometerswhich caused the tremor to be perceived with a grade V intensity in Chimbote.
