National Police arrest Army major for the death of a 19-year-old young man in Los Guandules

Santo Domingo. – The National Police reported this Saturday that he arrested a Major of the Dominican Army accused of being allegedly responsible for the death of Perla Jokasta Santos Pacheco19, who died from a gunshot wound to the head in a confusing incident recorded in the early hours of December 26 in the Los Guandules sectorof the National District.

It is about Diego Geraldo Mesa Arismendy, 48 years old, arrested after a investigative work developed by members of the Operational Department II of Homicide Investigations, attached to the Central Investigation Directorate (Dicrim).

The law enforcement body indicated that the acting agents They carried out multiple surveys of video surveillance cameras, as well as the evidence collection and analysiswhich made it possible to identify, locate and arrest the alleged perpetrator of the incident.

Major Mesa Arismendy was arrested pursuant to established legal procedures and is in custody to be placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for the corresponding purposes.
