They release a young man detained in Michoacán after protesting the murder of Carlos Manzo

In recent days, Meza’s defense and relatives affirmed that the case represented an example of criminalization of peaceful protest, since the charges and prolonged detention would have responded more to his participation in the mobilization than to duly accredited criminal acts.

This Saturday, the Secretary of the Government of Michoacán, Raúl Zepeda Villaseñor, reported that the state administration collaborated with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) so that Raúl could access the modification of the precautionary measures and continue his criminal process without remaining in detention.

Authorities indicated that investigations related to the events of the protest will continue their course within the corresponding legal framework.
