Recently, the authorities of the department of Huila They revealed a new type of motorcycle theft, especially in the municipality of Pitalito. The criminals would be using signal inhibitors to evade vehicle security systems.
He Colonel Carlos Téllezcommander of the Huila Police Department, revealed that this new modality was discovered thanks to a recent operation in the aforementioned municipality, which allowed the recovery of four motorcycles stolen moments before by a criminal gang.

“Within the framework of the plan ‘Christmas with a Purpose’we achieved a very important result in relation to the theft of motorcycles in the south of Huila, where we recovered four motorcycles and seized a signal jammerwhich was being used to block the tracking and security systems of these vehicles,” said the senior officer.
According to the colonel, the criminals would be using sophisticated technology to elude the authorities, which has allowed them to steal these vehicles, which are subsequently used in various criminal activities.
The seized signal jammer is valued at more than four million pesos and, according to preliminary investigations, it was used to block the signal GPS and other tracking systems, making it difficult to locate the motorcycles after the theft.

The National Police advances in the process of identification and prosecution of the members of this criminal structure, with the objective of achieving their capture and dismantling, directly affecting this criminal phenomenon that impacts citizen security.
