The community of Conchán, in the district of Chota, was shocked after a fatal accident that claimed the life of a renowned local communicator while directing a beauty pageant. The victim, identified as Elber Paredes Mejía34 years old, leaves a 9-year-old son orphaned.
The death occurred in circumstances that are still being investigated, during the development of the event, when the presenter was on the stage installed in a rural area of the district. In the middle of the event, the victim leaned on one of the metal structures on the stage, at which time he would have received a powerful electric shock.
The people who witnessed the incident reported that the communicator remained motionless while the electric current passed through his body, facing the helplessness of those attending the event. The situation continued until a worker who was climbing the platform noticed what happened and managed to remove the presenter from the metal bar that transmitted electricity.
Despite the immediate intervention, Elber Paredes He died a few minutes later as a result of the electrocution. The images of the tragic episode were captured on video and subsequently circulated on digital platforms, causing deep consternation among users and residents of the town.
Relatives demand answers
The relatives of the deceased communicator demanded that the competent authorities carry out a complete investigation to establish guilt in the event. According to them, there would be irregularities in the security conditions of the structure where the contest was taking place.
