LIMA, Peru – Family and friends of Cuban actor Alfredo Martínez have made a call to find the artist, who disappeared about 26 days ago in Havana.
Martínez is remembered for his recurring appearances on television and also in Cuban radio spaces. The alert for his disappearance was initially shared by the news page The Scissorson Facebook.
The actor, an elderly man and dementia patient, left his home in the Cuban capital and since then his whereabouts have been unknown.
“It is feared that he is disoriented and wandering the streets of the capital, in a high-risk situation due to his health condition (…) Anyone who has any information that could help find his whereabouts is gratefully requested to contact him immediately by phone: 54363216,” highlighted La Tijera.
Although Alfredo Martínez has not participated in recent television and radio productions on the Island, several generations of Cubans remember him for his participation in popular programs such as “La Flecha Negra”, “Memorias de un Abuelo”, “El Caballero del Rey”, “Punto G”, “La Cara Oculta de la Luna”, “El que Debe Vivir”, “Las Huérfanas de la Obrapia”, “Tato y Carmina”, among other spaces.

The Cuban State does not implement any mechanism to make visible the missing persons casesnot even if they are minors or older adults, like the Amber alert used in the United States. This is why most complaints are made by members of civil society through social networks.
To report a missing person, it is recommended that family members fill out the form to missing alerts that make the search and pressure on authorities more effective.
