Sheinbaum praises hope, resistance and national unity

With special recognition to health and security workers, as well as migrants, President Claudia Sheinbaum wished Mexican families a happy Christmas Eve and Christmas.

He expressed his confidence that this “Christmas Eve will embrace us as a nation. May the solidarity that defines us and the love for our land give us a lot of strength. May the pride of being Mexican accompany us today and always. Our cultural greatness nourishes us.”

In a video broadcast on social networks, he expressed that in these celebrations “in every corner of the country there is always hope; in a house, in a neighborhood, in a neighborhood of the cities, in a small town in the countryside, on the coast and in the desert; in the north, in the center, and in the south-southeast of our beautiful Mexico, there is love and that brotherhood that we share as Mexicans.”

The president appears on a tour of the National Palace, accompanied by her husband, Jesús Tarriba. Greet the military personnel guarding the premises and then place Christmas Eve flowers.

He highlighted cultural and family traditions. The happiness of gathering around the table to share.

“We are the shared word, the dish served with love, the laughter that heals and the memory that accompanies. We give thanks to our mothers and fathers, to our grandmothers and grandfathers, who taught us to resist with dignity and to love with the soul.”

He also thanked the girls and boys who “remind us every day why it is worth fighting for.”

He mentioned those who cannot physically be with their loved ones.

“Tonight I also think about those who are far from home; about those who work to keep others safe, and about those who miss someone today. Also about our countrymen and women; our armed forces, the police, health workers, firefighters, transportation workers and many others.”

In Mexico we know how to accompany each other even from a distance, he added.

In the culmination, with a Christmas tree behind her and hugging her husband, Sheinbaum asked to remember that the most important thing is not material things, but values ​​and love for others, love for family and love for our beloved Mexico.

He expresses: “with all love we wish you the best of Christmas and may you spend it in peace and unity.”

The President wrote alongside the video: “tonight there is hope, love and fraternity in every corner of the country. The most important thing is the values ​​and love for others, for the family and for our beloved Mexico.”
