Lugo de Márquez denounced that his family, like many others in the country, faces these dates with an absence marked by what he described as an “unjust cell.” “I do not write only as the wife of Enrique Márquez, but as a Venezuelan woman whose voice adds to the deep fatigue of millions who long for something so simple and at the same time so sacred: the peace of living,” she said.
Enrique Márquez’s wife questioned the use of political power as a tool of confrontation and persecution, and maintained that this dynamic has deepened divisions in the country. «The power that is used to silence does not magnify anyone; “It only degrades those who exercise it,” he stated, while emphasizing that listening to a society exhausted by conflict is not a sign of weakness, but of humanity.
