Brazil already knows the athletes who will represent it in rhythmic gymnastics (GR) competitions during the year 2026. This is because the Brazilian Gymnastics Confederation (CBG) announced, last Monday (22), the gymnasts who will compete in the group event and individual competitions.
The coach of the Brazilian adult rhythmic gymnastics group team and general coordinator of GR teams, Camila Ferezin, chose to repeat the number of gymnasts called up in 2025, the year in which the Brazilian team team won two silver medals at the World Championships in Rio de Janeiro: “Our objective is to maintain everything that went well in this very successful year. In 2025, we managed to keep two groups working with excellence. In this way, we were runners-up in the world with one group and champions Pan-Americans with each other.”
In August of this year, the Brazilian team shone in the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup held at Arena Carioca 1 in the Olympic Park, in Rio de Janeiro. To the sound of “Evidências”, Duda Arakaki, Nicole Pircio, Sofia Madeira, Mariana Gonçalves and Maria Paula Caminha gave a great performance in the final of the mixed series (with three balls and two hoops) to win the silver medal. This feat was achieved one day after Brazil secured an unprecedented silver medal in the general event (which has a score made up of the performance in the mixed series and the five-ribbon series).
